
The British army led a recruitment drive in the early 1960s of the commonwealth nations and Fiji was and still is a major source of providing personnel for” Her majesty’s services
So much even today it is oversubscribed. Many of our elders have served in the British Army in various Regiments and Special forces and have been involved in campaigns all over the world. This continues today with members of the association involved in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Remberance Sunday is a Very important date in the Rochdale Fijian Calendar and many members of our association are members of the Rochdale British Legion and they regularly march and lay wreaths at the cenotaph in Rochdale Town centre.
